It's been a while since I last added new photos. With limited time due to work and parenting commitments I hadn't managed to get out into the bush as much as I'd have liked. Further up the coast I explored Croajingolong National Park for the first time. I can categorically state that Point Hicks is the windiest place I've ever tried to shoot. At one point I had to crawl on my hands and knees just to advance forward a few feet. Shooting from under rock outcrops, with a big umbrella as aA short hike up Genoa Peak was rewarding, with golden light blazing into my lens, and up into NSW I revisited Mimosa Rocks this time really trying to focus on the colourful boulders in the fading twilight. Finally duty dragged me homewards, but not before I managed to grab a nice shot of Melbourne's Yarra River on the way back.

It’s as though the future is held here. Held at bay, held at more than arm’s length. Held just beyond my reach all the long days of summer. This January is different. School is over for Alex Delaney and he’s waiting for his university offer – only seventeen days away. The waiting is killing him. He’s not expecting much from January. Change your laundry detergent – The brand of laundry powder/liquid you use can make a massive difference. Detergents with more fillers and added fragrances tend to be the worst culprits as they will leave more residue behind.
